Looking for a place to fight away those winter blues? Soul Soup in Carlton is the place to go.
The little café, located a stones throw away from bustling Lygon Street, offers its guests a sanctuary from the spine chilling city wind. Set amongst the trade classrooms at the university of RMIT, even the burliest of students succumb to Soul Soup’s appeal.
And what is not to love about soup?
The selection of soups change daily – head to their Facebook page to see what they have on offer each day. Their Potato and Leek soup beats my mum’s hands down (Don’t tell her I said that!), and I can never look past their Thai Red Curry Pumpkin soup. There is always something new to try for those daring folk, from Chorizo and Chickpea, to Green Lentil with Honey. None will disappoint, believe me.
Each bowl of soup comes with crusty wood fired bread, and when paired with a cup of their fair trade coffee, becomes the perfect lunchtime pick-me-up.
What could make this oasis better, you ask? Free Wi-Fi. Now you can defrost your weary feet with a bowl full of goodness, while simultaneously streaming videos of cats being cute. Heaven.
